Ready to take the Pacific Coast Highway to the danger zone? Well strap in and gear up, because we’re organizing a very special photo event. This exclusive event will take place on Saturday, April 7th at Point Mugu Naval Base, with lunch and automotive pampering immediately prior! And the best part? All proceeds will be donated to support our troops!

Come join us for a day of relaxation and fun! We’ll begin our day down at Lavaggio for lunch and high-end car care. Then, the group will cruise to PCH for ocean-side rolling shots as we make our way to Point Mugu Naval Base for a one-of-a-kind photo session with accomplished automotive photographer Scott Chu.

MClub.LA Arrive & Drive Karting Event Recap

The experience at MClub LA’s inaugural Arrive & Drive Karting day is difficult to capture without being there in person. However, the fact that forty motorsport enthusiasts arrived at Willow Springs Raceway (a two hour drive for many) at 7:30am might begin to provide a glimpse of the enthusiasm surrounding the event. The smell of freshly roasted coffee and baked pastries served to awaken the senses everyone else as Robert Williams, proprietor of Willow Springs Racing, provided a brief instructional session and prepared the racers to step into the 4-stroke Honda karts for a day of intense racing.

MClub.LA Meet: AYCE Korean BBQ

Our past few All-You-Can-Eat-themed meets have been so successful that we decided to do it once again! This time, we’re going to deviate from sushi and try a different Asian cuisine: Korean BBQ. This week, we will eat at Tahoe Galbi Restaurant (3986 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA). We will arrive at the Topanga Promenade parking lot outside Macy’s furniture (see map) around 8:00pm and embark on the evening cruise around 8:30pm. We will take a pleasant, responsible drive to the dinner location, enjoying the marvelous combination of Southern California weather and the pleasant roar of our Bavarian beasts.

If you are unable to make the rally location and wish to meet us at the restaurant, please do! We should arrive around 9:15pm. You can see the M3F post here.

MClub.LA Meet: AYCE Sushi AGAIN!

Our last AYCE sushi meet was so successful that we decided to do it AGAIN! Light & Healthy Sushi (menu & map) was awesome (they even let non-AYCE diners sit with AYCE diners, unlike other establishments). Put those stretchy pants back on and leave your belt at home. We will arrive at the Topanga Promenade parking lot outside Macy’s furniture (see map) around 7:30pm and embark on the evening adventure around 8:00pm. We will take a pleasant, responsible cruise through the streets of Woodland Hills to the dinner location, enjoying the marvelous combination of Southern California weather and the pleasant roar of our Bavarian beasts.

Are you ready for another infamous MClub all-you-can-eat sushi night? Don’t forget your stretch pants and a baggy shirt, because we’re about to decimate some California Dragon rolls. We’re trying out an all-new AYCE sushi spot this week – Light & Healthy Sushi (menu & map). We will arrive at the Topanga Promenade parking lot outside Macy’s furniture (see map) around 7:30pm and embark on the evening adventure around 8:00pm. In order to make the appropriate reservation, we need a reasonable headcount. If you’re planning on attending, please consider letting us know.

Krispy Kreme Tuesday

One of the largest automotive enthusiast meets in the LA area was held this past Tuesday and I almost missed it. I was browsing a few BMW forums and happened to notice a bunch of similar posts popping up on each of them. Each one was inquiring about caravan spots for to a meet called “Krispy Kreme Tuesdays.” After doing some research and asking a few local friends if they had been to one of these meets before, I learned that it had a bit of a negative stigma associated with it. Apparently, previous Krispy Kreme Tuesdays were plagued with cops who would bust people and hand out annoyance tickets for things like tint, no front plate, exhaust, etc. When I looked at the official Facebook page of the meet and saw that over 1400 people had already confirmed, I threw caution to the wind and started my own 818 caravan post to see if anyone local wanted to caravan to the meet. To my surprise, four cars showed up to join me on the trek from Sherman Oaks to Burbank.

Cars With Your Coffee? Why Yes!

Normally at 5am on a Saturday I am tucked away in bed, dreaming of driving the world’s greatest tracks. However, on occasion, a Saturday much different from the rest comes along. Southern California’s over-the-top car scene is one of the best perks of living in the LA/Orange County area, and every Saturday at 7am there is a Cars and Coffee show held in Irvine, next to Spectrum on the Ford-Mazda research campus. A huge variety of cars frequent this event, from BMW’s and incredibly tricked-out Japanese tuner cars to high-end exotics and rare vintage American muscle cars. The lot, which can easily hold a few hundred cars, almost always fills beyond capacity by the 7am start time, so those wishing to display their rides usually have to arrive around 6:30am or earlier.

MClub.LA Meet: Paradise Cove

It’s time to hit the beach for the next MClub dinner meet and cruise! This time, we’re taking a jaunt through the canyons of Malibu to explore the culinary delights at Paradise Cove (menus & map). We will arrive at the Topanga Promenade parking lot outside Macy’s furniture (see map) around 7:00pm and embark on the evening adventure around 7:30pm. The destination is Paradise Cove, where we will dine on the beach and enjoy a marvelous West Coast evening. After dinner, a strong possibility exists for an evening canyon cruise.

My First Track Day

Ever since I became a BMW owner, I have wanted to participate in a track day. Unfortunately, schedule and budget conflicts have conspired to keep my racing urges confined to virtual reality. This all changed in early December, when my friend persuaded me to sign up for an ExtremeSpeed track event. Amazingly, my schedule and budget cooperated, so along with several friends I registered for the event. Since so many people from LA were travelling to the event, we decided to caravan up on the morning of December 17th.
